CANADIAN LANDSCAPES by Sarah Moffat
Exhibition from July 19 to August 19, 2018
VERNISSAGE: Thursday July 19, 5 pm to 8 pm
In her exhibition « Canadian Landscapes » showing at La Fab from July 19 to August 19, 2018, artist Sarah Moffat offers visitors a highly visual and tactile experience through her unique interpretation of the natural world.
Sarah Moffat builds on the knowledge of colour and visual integrity she has gained over fifteen years of experience producing specialty wall finishes to create smaller, more portable works.
“Inspired by my days at Toronto’s Ontario College of Art and Design in the mid-eighties, I immerse myself again in unconditional expression through a wide variety of techniques and diverse subject matter”, explains the artist. This non-conforming attitude infuses her work with a fresh and often child-like freedom, flitting from glimpses of the natural world to pure abstract expressions.
Even when using traditional materials and subjects, Moffat often incorporates metallic foils and varied textures, infusing each new piece with a unique depth and interpretation.
Born in Toronto in 1966, Sarah had an unusual childhood living on a boat in the Bahamas and in a family-run restaurant/hotel in Mont Tremblant. She now lives and works in Carleton Place, Ontario.
Sarah welcomes you to her vernissage on Thursday, July 19, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Come stroll through her landscapes of mysterious beauty and chat with her about her unique interpretation of our nature.
